Viviana Estrada: "The Classical Feng Shui BaGua and its Applications”
Meeting recap by FSIM Board member, Mary Conley
Viviana Estrada is Certified as a Chinese astrology reader and a Classical Feng Shui expert, as well as Certified Spring Forest Qigong healer. Viviana’s presentation focused on the Feng Shui bagua locations and their effect on our lives. A summary follows of her presentation:
Feng Shui is one of the Chinese Arts, which originally used mountains and rivers to look at the formation of Qi. With the movement of the wind, the Qi formed and moved down the mountain to rest on the boundaries of the river. Qi is the life force (energy) that flows through us, the world around us and the Universe. Feng Shui includes the Cosmic Trinity, which is Heaven, Man and Earth.
The purpose of Feng Shui is to understand the flow of Qi on Earth and to be able to tap into the favorable Qi and be positively affected by it. If the Qi energy is supporting us, we can attain our goals in wealth, health and our personal relationships. The application of Feng Shui principles is instrumental in harnessing the supportive Qi to achieve our goals. Feng Shui does this by using the fundamentals of the Yin and Yang principles, the Five Elements (Water, Wood, Fire, Earth, and Metal) and the Bagua (the 8 trigrams).
A description of how to create a bagua of your home was provided as well as the formula for determining your Life Gau number. Layout your home in the bagua format and label each area by location (N, S, E, W, SW, SE, NW, NE). You can then identify, based on your Life Gua number, what sector your Life Palace, Life Palace Opportunity, Life Palace Relationship and Love Palace are located. Charts were provided showing the location of the Life Palace, Life Palace Opportunity, Life Palace Relationship and Love Palace based on your Life Gau number (for those of you who registered for the event, reference the presentation slides for details that were sent to you with the replay).
Check your bagua for the locations for the Life Palace, Life Palace Opportunity, Life Palace Relationship and Love Palace. For each of these, check to see that the sector exists in the bagua or whether it is missing. The space should be uncluttered, used by someone in the home (i.e. place people gather, walk by and see, sit down in so that the space is activated), and look nice inside and outside. Hopefully, it is not a bathroom or storage room, and it does not have an affliction, such as a column in the cent that prevents people from moving freely or is missing. If this is the case, there is reduced opportunity for this given sector.
Charts for the 8 Guas were provided with specific information for the following:
Gua trigram and name
Nature
Direction
# Number
Element
Color
Body Parts affected
Family Role
Activity Role
Note: The person associated with the Family Role or Number are the most vulnerable to being affected if the sector is missing, has columns, is a bathroom or storage room. The activity role can be affected as well.
If you are suffering from any sickness, check which gau’s body parts are related to the illness.
Check this sector to see if it is afflicted by clutter, columns, storage room or bathroom. Apply recommendations to declutter and activate the space if it is not being used.
-You need to be in an area for 6 hours to be affected by the energy of the location.
-Location supersedes all directions.
-When using your iPhone compass, use magnetic north (uses the energy of Earth). Go to settings, compass app, and uncheck true north.
-Using the compass, stand in front of the front door. Face away from the front door to determine the direction.
