At the FSIM 2024 Annual Meeting, we gave our appreciation to Debbie Miller, FSIM's outgoing President and thanked her for her twelve years of service to FSIM!
As Debbie mentioned, we are in dire need of new board members. Since our last urgent request, we have had just one person express an interest in helping us on the Board.
The remaining Board members have each committed to staying on the board through this year. If we don't get the additional Board members to replace us as well as fill the other open positions, we will not be able to continue as an organization.
We are looking for people to fill all positions. We’d be happy to discuss your skill sets and how they can contribute to our organization.
We need to know your interest by February 25, 2024 at the latest. After that date the Board will decide whether FSIM will be able to continue into 2025.

Topic: 2024/Year of the Wood Dragon, Period 9, Qi Men - Guardians of Destiny

2024 Year of the Wood Dragon - 2/10 - Luna New Year
- 2/04 - Solar New Year
- Typically, the Lunar New Year occurs before the Solar New Year. When they are not in this order and flipped as they are in 2024, it is called a ‘blind’ year. This means something is out of step due to this flip.
- Dragon Energy of Earth is Paired with Wood Energy
- Perceptions of Dragon - East vs. West
- East perception - very auspicious, considered a protector, reverence felt toward the Dragon
- West perception - fiery animal bringing death
- Being an Earth Element, Dragon has a natural need to protect and take care of others.
- Dragon represents luck, creativity, progress, wealth, change and growth, Star of Arts
- With the Dragon being paired with Yang Wood energy, it is an Earth and Wood combination where Wood takes up Earth.
- Yang Wood represents leadership and strength, but with too much wood can get anger, stubbornness, one sided vision.
- Wood energy is tapping down and weakening the Earth energy of the dragon, causing a heavy effect on Earth energy, which could cause Earth disasters and conflicts.
Dragon and Friends - If you’re a Dragon, you need to step up and pull it together. If hesitant or reluctant, not the best year for Dragon.
- Friends of the Dragon are the Monkey and Rat. Can put all 3 together as a pendant, picture, etc. and place where you can see them.
- Special friend of the Dragon is the Rooster (horizontal from the Dragon), who runs interference for the Dragon so it doesn’t dump negative things on you. An adjustment would be to have a Rooster statue, rooster charm or other representation of this animal near you (Rooster key chain sent to you by FSIM could be used).
- Dog will be challenged this year.
Black Rabbit enters the Green Dragon Den - This does not bode well for the rabbit going into the Green Dragon’s den.
- This represents a forewarning for the year, which is more specific to China.
Flying Star for 2024
Challenged Directions - 2 (SE), 7 (S), 3 (Center) and 5 (West)
- Do not activate or dig up the SE, W, S, or Center
Adjustments for Challenged Directions
- SE/2/Earth: Represents sickness - Add coins (Metal) that can be placed in SE (could use the coins strung on red cording that FSIM sent you)
- S/7/Metal: Invites scandal - Add fountain (Water) or plant (Wood)
- Center/3/Wood: Conflict, robbery - Add red stone, red cloth (Fire)
- W/5/Earth: obstacles, misfortune, stuck energy - Add metal windchime (Metal)
Other Adjustments for 2024 - Introduce a Pixiu (green dragon with wings) and place with head looking out the door
- Place a dragon headed turtle by the front door facing out
- Have a rooster charm that you wear or have in your office (can contact Diana for rooster charm at diana@windwaterharmony.com
- Place 2024 Couplets on either side of the front door or office (find attached to Reminder about Annual Meeting and will be attached to the replay recording).
- Left side - May you have luck every day
- Right side - May you have peace during all four seasons

- Be kind
Final recommendations for 2024 - Take care of ourselves - this is what we can do for ourselves

Amy Theisen: Qi Men Dun Jia Your Personal Relationship with the Divine - Tapping into your own Spark within you
The Guardians are a piece of God’s source. By connecting with them, we can improve our life. The secret is to begin establishing a relationship with your Guardian energies and learn how to connect and direct that energy to work in our favor and on our behalf.
Amy discussed our personal guardian of destiny that we are born with as well as the guardians that visit and support us each year who we can leverage and bring in their virtue to improve who we are. This information was found in our individual Natal QiMen Destiny Chart. Look in the upper right corner of the chart to see the Destiny Palace (direction) and the Guardian of Destiny.
Each Guardian has abilities that are unique and powerful. The Guardian of Destiny (per your chart), has given you certain traits and abilities all through your life.
Amy described each of the Guardians of Destiny (see specific information in the handout provided) and the ‘ask for each. A list of Guardians follow:
Guardians - Chief - Leader of Guardians, removes obstacles and helps solve problems for other people
- Hook - Master of History, connects spiritual links
- Six Harmony - Guardian of Love and Relationships
- Nine Heavens - Guardian of Courage and Vision
- White Tiger - Pure Raw Energy, energy (mental and physical) and courage
- Great Moon - Like Dept. of Knowledge, provides inspiration for stories and writing
- Nine Earth - Mother Earth, connects with the land and resources, healing energy, patience, property
- Surging Snake - Ability to understand land and nature, intuitive to control the 5 Elements
- Black Tortoise - Guardian of Influence, mass influence to change people’s minds
- Red Phoenix - Guardian of Spoken Word, whenever you need your words to be heard, use this Guardian
Process for Connecting with Your Guardians: - To connect with your Guardians, sit with your back to their direction. There is a secret point of connection at the base of your head where an indentation is located above your neck. Have the back of your head facing your the Guardian’s direction.
- Calm your mind.
- Command within the realm of possibility to your Guardian what you want and add for my highest and greatest good. This is not a prayer, rather it is an activation of a virtue and what you want.
- Know what Guardians are good at. Look at the information provided relative to their description.
- Ask for what you want and create a mantra based on this. The mantra should be based in the present using I am statements.
- Work with your visiting Guardians as well as your Destiny Guardian.

Your membership will cover all FSIM events for one year (additional special events could be subject to charge). Even if you aren't a Practitioner, the Friend Membership is a great deal, as the $72 fee covers the annual meeting and each of the quarterly meetings for one year (from the date of your membership); you would otherwise pay $81 to pay separately for each meeting.
