Temple Tour, Abundance and Connection
~Kathy Connors
FSIM hopes you have had a fun-filled summer of activity, exercise, friends, family, fireworks, and great food! It is hard for me to leave this season of high sun, warmth, airy clothes and growth. I love flowers, gardening and being outdoors. Being immersed in the outside world of summer is such a special time. We all enjoy the abundance of our gardens, relationships and plans as we transition to Fall.
The Board of FSIM is so excited about our Special Fall Event, the Hindu
Temple Tour on October 1. This is the largest Hindu Temple in the United States. The Temple was created using Hindu principles used in establishing the location of the Temple and timing of the building of the Temple. Sound familiar Feng Shui friends?
Don't miss out on this special event that includes yoga at the Temple, followed by a tour and then lunch with members.

The Hindu Temple:
This is the largest Hindu Temple in the United States. In the early 1970's a group of locals established a formal society whose purpose would be to celebrate the richness of the Hindu faith, customs and traditions of Minnesota's Hindu community. From this concept, the Hindu Society of Minnesota was established. An old church in Minneapolis served as the first place of worship. Fast forward to 1998 when Asha & Mahendra Nath, Kumud & Shashikant Kane and Kusum & Krishna Saxena purchased an ideally situated 80 acres in Maple Grove for this 43,000 square foot Hindu Temple. Hindu principles, similar to that of Feng Shui were used for it's location.
