The Incoming President's Message ~By Debbie Miller, FSIM President
I am excited and honored to start my new role as FSIM President for 2019-2023. It has been a pleasure to work with outgoing President Elaine Anderson during the last 6+ years that I have been on this wonderful board. She has been instrumental in making some amazing changes and contributions to our organization! It has been a privilege to assist her as Vice President for the last 4 years and get to know her as a mentor as well as a friend. Our current FSIM Board of Directors and I have been collaborating with Elaine to ensure a smooth transition and maintain momentum as we move forward with this new season for FSIM. As I step into the role of FSIM President, I am so pleased to introduce to all of you, our new FSIM Co-Vice Presidents: - Michelle Skally Doilney (currently Website Coordinator)*
- Ellen Johnson (currently Treasurer)**
*Michelle will remain in her current role while we orientate her replacement. She has helped us to launch a new website that will be very easy to maintain going forward. Thanks, Michelle! **Ellen will continue as our Treasurer as well as taking on her new Vice President responsibilities.
Welcome Michelle and Ellen to your new leadership roles for FSIM!
I would also like to acknowledge our hardworking Board of Directors: - Sonia Ellis - Secretary
- Jane Petrich - Membership Coordinator
- Victoria Kaupp-Barkhoff - Communications Coordinator
- Kathleen Bartle Hedstrom - Member-At-Large
- Rachel Loeslie - Outgoing Events Coordinator
- Peg Ganey - New Events Coordinator
- Nancy Baxter - New Ambassador of Community Engagement (ACE)
*This group of dedicated people meet monthly (either in person or by phone) to plan meetings, events, and educational and volunteer opportunities for our FSIM community.
I want to give special recognition and a heartfelt thank-you to: - Elaine Anderson - Outgoing President
- Cheryl Larson - Outgoing Ambassador of Community Engagement and interim Newsletter Coordinator
- Rachel Loeslie - Outgoing Events Coordinator
Please contact me, or any Board Member, if you are interested in more information about being on the FSIM Board of Directors or on a supporting committee. There are lots of ways that you can be involved! Your FSIM Board will be actively working together planning events and activities as well as creating continuing education opportunities for you - our members. In the meantime, my focus remains to broaden our membership base and to offer outstanding Feng Shui-related events. This includes supporting all of the current programs created by Elaine and our leadership team. I am looking forward to all of the amazing events planned for 2019 and the 20-Year anniversary celebration in 2020! Deborah Miller FSIM, IFSG, Allied ASID Diamond Dowser

2019 FSIM January Annual Meeting (recap by Nancy Robinson ) "Intention, Attention, No-Tension: Harnessing the power of the mind, heart and will to live the life you choose" with Paul Scheele, Ph.D. | | Dr. Paul Scheele | |
Awesome prizes were awarded randomly throughout the evening as we moved to the major event - Paul Scheele, PhD's presentation "Intention, Attention, No Tension: Harnessing the power of the mind, heart and will to live the life you choose." Paul spoke in detail about the gifts that we all bring in to this life to share. He contrasted our past life experiences which all too often impede our living in what he called "correspondence", our True Self operating congruently and in coherence with Creation.
With the lively and illustrative assistance of Ellen Johnson as a volunteer "Being", and six others who portrayed her "Guardians" of either the Voices of Judgment, Heart, and Will, or the "Guardians-Allies for Change" of the Open Mind, Heart, and Will, the audience was treated to a literal tug of war. It was a demonstration of the way our spiritual beings hide our innate power behind the things we fear the most, contrasted with the courage to work towards a life of safety, love, belonging, and worthiness.
Dr. Scheele's accelerated learning courses, including 'Paraliminal' cds, (which literally address both left and right hemispheres at the same time, support the individual in creating the environment where one can manifest the fulfillment of one's life purpose.
Referring to the 'bang' of the gavel, Dr. Scheele's presentation was a ringing reminder of our life goals, our New Years intention, and a vision of paths to achievement.
Interest in and questions about Dr. Scheele's courses, paraliminal cds, and/or his May 17 - 21, 2019, retreat in Chaska, MN, can be addressed by contacting Cheryl@ScheeleLearning.com, or calling 952-470-7368. |

Solar New Year - February 4 Lunar New Year - February 5 (China time)
The Year of the Pig (2019) will still be one of turmoil, deceit, and fraud. However, the Pig brings with it a smart, realistic and fun temperament. The Pig year will find more importance in being rather than doing. However, because the Lunar New Year falls after the Solar New Year, it could be a year of disorder and confusion. Those who know the animal of their birth year can determine if this will be a favorable or unfavorable year. The Horse, Snake and Rooster will be challenged. The Tiger and Rabbit are predicted to have an exceptional year while the Dragon, Sheep, Dog, and Pig will be experiencing some positive vibes in 2019. The Rat, Ox and Monkey will be having neutral years. For those challenged in the Year of the Pig, carry an image of the Tiger, the Pig's best friend. And be sure your Feng Shui is in order so that you can optimize and overcome any issues.
