Practical Mysticism is a new paradigm that is beginning to shape the consciousness of spiritually-minded people. It is an approach to the spiritual journey that involves developing a mystical connection to the soul, while at the same time remaining grounded, mentally focused, and outwardly effective in daily life. In this presentation, William Meader will examine Practical Mysticism from several perspectives, including the importance of blending love and will, creative meditation, and how to use the mind to properly register the soul's intuitions.

William Meader is an international teacher of The Esoteric Philosophy (Ageless Wisdom). He presents a variety of esoteric topics to audiences in Europe, the US, Canada, Australia and New Zealand. He has authored 'Shine Forth: The Soul's Magical Destiny' and numerous articles
focused on esoteric subjects, For more information about his work, please see www.emergentlight.com.

FSIM Volunteering At Bridging Recap

Bridging

On Thursday, August 15, 10 members and friends of FSIM met to volunteer at the Bridging facility in Roseville, MN.

Per Cheryl Larson's original insight and initiative, FSIM's connection with this local organization offers our members the opportunity to experience and potentially "put into action" the Feng Shui value of decluttering. Most of us are tremendously blessed with an abundance we hardly acknowledge or recognize. We have extra sets of dishes, mugs, lamps, blankets, etc.

On Thursday, our group created towel packets from hundreds of donated towels: one bath towel, one hand towel and a washcloth for each packet. Up to 800 families go through our Minneapolis Bridging locations each and every week!

Our donations - our "excess" - becomes someone else's gift and joy, giving a spark of hope and encouragement to a challenging life. (Many of these families survive on around $20,000 a year!)

It was a pleasure to temporarily fill and line their shelves with beautifully color-coordinated towel groupings which needy individuals and families will appreciate and enjoy. It was pleasurable and rewarding to work with other FSIM members at an organization which supports and elevates community members in need.

Please consider donating some of your "excess" and join us next time!

As our teacher, His Holiness Grandmaster Thomas Lin Yun said,
"One good deed a day, erases all Karma."

Drum-Making Opportunity:

Last chance!!

FSIM has scheduled a Drum Making workshop, with renowned drum maker, Wayne Manthey. If you have ever dreamed of having AND making your own drum, this is your chance! In the workshop, Wayne will walk attendees through the steps to make their own drum. He will provide the wooden frame, deer hide, stain, etc., you'll want to bring a small rock or other smooth object - one that could fit easily into the palm of your hand - that can go inside the drum handle.

You can choose to make a 13" or 16" drum. The 13" drum will generally have a somewhat higher tone; the 16" drum will generally have a lower tone (but not always). Many people choose the larger drum, but either one will be amazing!

Workshop is:

Pick a Drum:
13" Drum $126.00
16" Drum $162.00

The Workshops will take place at Wayne's workshop located at: 887 Smith Ave. S., West St. Paul, MN 55118.

Sign up ASAP!  The workshop is limited to eight participants. Because of the small class size, we are limiting these workshops to FSIM Practitioners and Friend Members only (unless we have additional space prior to the workshops.) If there is significant interest, we may set up additional workshops.

If you have questions about the process, please see Wayne's website at:

Spotlight on Megan Eagledale,
FSIM Board as Website Coordinator

My official Feng Shui journey began a few years ago with a short
9-week online program. I missed about half the information due to a busy Real Estate season. However, I knew I was completely intrigued. I decided to sign up for the certification program through Wind and Water School of Feng Shui in 2018 and followed with their Masters program. As I deepened my knowledge and understanding of Feng Shui, I realized I had been working and living with the Feng Shui principles most of my adult life. Today, my work has become even more powerful as I am working and creating with both intuition AND intention. I created Sacred Spaces Consulting last year.

Getting personal, 2019 brought many changes to my life. I have found myself alone for the first time in my adult life. My two children are both United States Marines, talk about proud mama! My son Tyler, is 22 and is currently stationed in North Carolina. My daughter Hunter, is 18 and currently stationed in California. Even though they are on opposite sides of the country, I am beyond grateful they are both Stateside!

Empty nesting, being single, and moving (twice) has been a lot so far this year. Honestly, I am really loving my new chapter! I have chosen to live consciously every day, and more importantly, give myself permission to evolve! I am not quite sure what the final picture will look like, but trusting the universe and being open to the possibilities is the only way I know how to live, plus it's exciting! I plan to take December and January off to travel and become a certified yoga instructor. I have found myself most at peace in the studio and practice at least six days a week. I have also recently discovered a natural ability to communicate and read cards. I am continuing to develop my gifts and hope to be sharing readings for others by Spring.

Joining the FSIM board has been an absolute joy! I am meeting so many wonderful people and am continuously learning. I want to express a warm heartfelt THANK YOU to my fellow board members and ALL my fellow Feng Shui friends, even the ones I haven't officially met yet! I am thrilled to be a part of such a wonderful uplifting organization and am looking forward to our future!
