A Message from FSIM President, Deborah Miller
Your FSIM Board of Directors is doing its best to support you through these times of uncertainty. The information about the changes and shifts happening in the world because of the Covid-19 virus is constantly changing! We've had to restructure our events to adhere to social distancing guidelines by creating FSIM Zoom meetings and events. This has created wonderful opportunities for us all to send healing to our community (and the world) through virtual meditations lead by our speakers. Looking ahead at some of the scheduled spring and summer events, we continue to keep you updated about them through the FSIM monthly newsletters, the FSIM website, and the FSIM Facebook group. We are continuing to promote member-sponsored events and classes. Please let us know if you have anything to share and we will post as much as we can on one of these social media platforms. If you need additional help or support, please reach out to someone. We realize that it is important now, more than ever before, to stay connected and support the members of this amazing Feng Shui community! Sending you all Love and Light!
Deborah Miller, FSIM President
FSIM is not an authority in addressing infectious diseases and we urge you to continue to seek appropriate medical advice from your healthcare professional. |
Celebrate and Support Mother Earth This Wednesday, April 22nd @ 7:00pm
You are invited to a special Feng Shui Institute of the Midwest Earth Day event! We have a wonderful opportunity to come together to celebrate and support Mother Earth! Everyone is welcome to attend at NO CHARGE!
The Zoom link is: We have a wonderful opportunity to come together to celebrate and support Mother Earth! Through our combined gifts of feng shui and dowsing, we have become aware of the importance of creating beauty, healing, and balance for both our homes and the land we live on. Through the use of our gifts, we have also become aware of the sacredness of the earth, our connection to it, and our responsibility to protect her and heal the damage that has been done. The more we focus our attention on the healing of the earth, the more we become aware that we are not alone in this endeavor and we begin to open the doors to other dimensions. How many of us have created fairy gardens, brought in gnomes into our homes and yards or feel a strong connection to spirits in the Elemental realm? On Earth Day 2020, as we move through the experience of a global pandemic, we have an even greater call to bring healing to the earth and, in return, to all humanity.
Wednesday, April 22, 2020 7:00 PM - Special event with Annette Rugolo Annette Rugolo, master dowser, and environmental healer will be sharing her experiences with the elemental realm during our Earth Day celebration. She will lead us in a meditation to help each of us remember and celebrate our connection to the earth and the elementals.

Your 2020/2021 Membership Renewal Date Has Been Extended!
Please log in to your Dashboard on www.fsim.org to see your new renewal date.
We decided to extend spring renewal dates given world events, and then decided to extend all upcoming and already-paid 2020 memberships. Memberships have been extended roughly a month-and-a-half for Friend and Practitioner members.
Please note that if your Practitioner membership expires, you will have a longer process to renew, when you do renew. If you renew ahead of your date, you will only need to enter in your CEU information, then payment. There is no "penalty" to renew early; your date will still stay the same future date.
Thank you for staying connected!

"Balance and Ease in a Time of Uncertainty" April Quarterly Meeting Recap by Nancy Baxter
Healing the Healers was FSIM's intended topic for our Spring quarterly meeting on April 7, but the Coronavirus altered that plan. Readily adapting to our new distancing normal, Catherine Duncan gracefully transitioned to teaching our members about resiliency and building inner strength, via Zoom. Resiliency, or the ability to bounce back from adversity, is essential for moving forward into an uncertain future with a sense of inner peace and joy. She spoke of the importance of: Self Care (good nutrition, exercise and sleep), Self Awareness (knowing your strengths and weaknesses and triggers), Purpose (feeling you are a part of something greater), Good Relationships (even just having one or two authentic connections) and Mindfulness (being present in the here and now).
Catherine went on to speak about stress and the relaxation response and how we now know that the brain is ever changing in response to our environment and the messages we feed it each day. She taught us a method to help us retrain the brain and to bring us back to the present moment and the positives in your life, as well as the importance of self love and compassion. Finally, she shared several simple tools to build inner strength, including: a breath exercise, a 5-minute guided meditation, 2 body movements, a self soothing practice and tapping for anxiety and fear.
Catherine, with other supportive healers, will speak next year for our Spring Quarterly meeting, but for this year's meeting, her topic and tools could not have been more timely and beneficial.
